Slashism
Last Updated:

👋🏼 Hello there,

My name is Pankaj, and I am the author of Slashism. I created this blog, Slashism, to share what I know. The slash in the name relates to the slashes in HTML tags like </>. I am going to focus on web development and a few other random code-related articles on this blog. I hope that you learn something useful today. I have been building web applications since 2012. I started my journey with PHP and mostly worked on Laravel. Over time, I gradually shifted fully towards the JS ecosystem. Nowadays, I primarily work with JavaScript, Node.js, Python, Golang, and AI - along with Postgres and Docker.

My Achievements:

To be honest, I am a man with no great achievements so far. I have small victories that I hope to turn into major ones someday.

My focus areas for this year:

I am currently focusing on the following things:

A few things I am very passionate about:

I play a lot of games when I feel less productive. Here is a list of my favorite Steam games:

Here is a list of Steam games that I used to play but not anymore:

I have recently started playing COD-M (Call of Duty) on iPad. I am not a fan of mobile games, but COD-M is an exception.

How I got into web development:

I always wanted to be a doctor when I was a kid, but everything changed once I got a computer in my last year of school. I fell in love with it, even though I was still distant from anything related to programming. This was during the time of dial-up internet connections with speeds of 5 Kbps or less.

I didn't get into web development until a particular incident changed everything. I was scammed by someone on a forum for a PHP script. It was a GPT (Get-Paid-To) script that I bought to start a website, despite having zero programming experience.

So I decided to learn and do it myself rather than rely on scammers. This decision changed the course of my life, and honestly, I don't regret it. I love what I do.

Fun facts about me:

I rarely consume caffeine. I am mostly a sweet lemonade and sweet yogurt lover.

I am not a fan of Cricket. Believe me, almost every single Indian you meet will love this game. It's the most loved sport in India, and people are crazy about it here. But not me. So please don't hate me for this.

Contact:

I will launch a newsletter once I get a hang of all these things. So you guys can subscribe to it for the latest updates on the articles I write here.

If you are also passionate and share similar interests, please don't hesitate to contact me on any of these channels.

I would love to have a good discussion about different ideas, collaboration opportunities, and any non-tech and general life discussions. Even if you don't have anything to discuss, just say Hi. 🙋️
